Adoption of 2012 Research Administrator Development Program

The Research Administrator Development Program sponsored by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) aims to promote research and improve the functioning of universities and other research institutes by nurturing and employing individuals possessing knowledge about research and development as research administrators and by classifying such jobs as highly professional ones.

This program will continue for 3 years. MEXT sought applications from universities for three types of programs: "International Research Center Initiative," "Strenthening Specialties," and "Enhancing Social Contributions and University-Industry Collaboration."

Osaka University applied for the "International Research Center Initiative" and its program was selected along with three programs submitted by other universities and research institutes throughout Japan.
