NAS elected Professor Sakaguchi of IFReC as Foreign Associate of NAS

The National Academy of Sciences (NAS) elected Professor Shimon Sakaguchi of the Immunology Frontier Research Center ( IFReC ) as a foreign associate of NAS on May 1, 2012.

Professor SAKAGUCHI enjoys a great reputation for his work in the discovery of regulatory T cells controlling autoimmune response and for clarifying the molecular mechanism of immune suppression and the role of regulatory T cells in organ transplants, allergies, cancers, and autoimmune diseases.
