Extracurricular Student Clubs & Circles requested to refrain from Recruitment Activities following Entrance Ceremony

This year's Entrance Ceremony is scheduled for Tuesday, April 3 at Osaka Jo Hall .

Although it used to be typical for members of Osaka University's extracurricular clubs and circles to gather outside the place where the Entrance Ceremony was being held and engage in recruitment activities for their club or circle as the new students left the ceremony, we ask once again that all student groups refrain from all such recruitment activities .

The reasons are the same as last year :

This year's Entrance Ceremony is once again being held at Osaka Jo Hall. As you may be aware, the entrance/exit area of Osaka Jo Hall is not particularly spacious; moreover, there are a series of steps leading to the entrance. Such being the case, if student groups attempt to engage in recruitment activities as new students leave, this entire area and the steps will become dangerously crowded. Consequently, once again this year all student groups are strictly forbidden from engaging in any sort of recruitment activities in the Entrance Ceremony entrance/exit area of Osaka Jo Hall .

Additionally, because Osaka Jo Hall is located within Osaka Jo Koen [Osaka Castle Park] and the park will already have many persons in it enjoying the cherry blossoms, attempting to engage in recruitment activities within the park will be a nuisance to many citizens and create ill will.

In light of the above situation and reasons outlined above, all extracurricular student groups, as well as unofficial groups, are forbidden from engaging in any and all recruitment activities following the 2012 Entrance Ceremony .

We thank you for your understanding and cooperation in advance.

Finally, we would like you to note that an Extracurricular Club & Circle Orientation has been planned for Saturday, April 7 on the Toyonaka campus. Please plan on making good use of this Extracurricular Club & Circle Orientation in getting new students to join your particular club or circle.

Please note, however, that prior registration of clubs and circles is requested. Please contact the Osaka University Culture Union for more information.
