Osaka University carries out Disaster Preparedness Drills
On Tuesday, August 31, Osaka University carried out its 2010-2011 Disaster Preparedness Drills in anticipation of Disaster Preparedness Day on September 1. The drills took place on Osaka University's Toyonaka Campus, designated by Osaka Prefecture as a major evacuation area and a landing area for helicopters in a disaster, and were based on a scenario of the aftermath of a major earthquake.
Thanks to cooperation from the Toyonaka City Fire Department Headquarters, actual landing and rescue drills were practiced with Fire Department helicopters.
