The 2021 Autumn Graduation Ceremony will be held according to the details listed below.

Entrance times

In order to prevent the spread of COVID-19, we have split entrance times for attendees into three groups:

Individuals receiving their doctorate degrees: 9:30~9:45

Individuals receiving their bachelor's, master's, or juris doctor degrees: 9:45~10:00

Guests: 10:00~10:15

Venue

MO Hall, Convention Center, Suita Campus, Osaka University

Graduates: MO Hall, 3F (main venue)

Guests: Classrooms and meeting rooms, 1F (satellite venue)

Notes

  • Graduates must bring their attendance slip with them to the ceremony. (This slip will be sent to you via an official university announcement and on KOAN.)
  • Each graduating student may bring one guest.
  • You may be denied entrance if you arrive at the venue after the ceremony has begun.
  • Please refrain from coming to the venue by automobile.
  • The ceremony will also be broadcast live on a special website, so make sure to tell your family and friends. The URL for this website will be sent to graduates via an official university announcement and on KOAN. Please note that the venue will be recorded during this live broadcast, including areas where attendees will be seated.

Measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19

  • Please wear a mask, practice proper cough etiquette, and refrain from having loud conversations at the venue.
  • Individuals who: (a) have been in close contact with someone who had contracted COVID-19, (b) have been in Japan for less than 2 weeks after returning from a country or region that requires a quarantine period, or (c) have been in close contact with an individual during their quarantine period should not come to the venue.
  • Please take your temperature on the day of the ceremony. If you are experiencing a fever of 37.5 degrees or higher or you are not feeling well (weakness, cough, sore throat, etc.), do not come to the venue. There will also be thermal imaging cameras at the entrance of the venue to take your temperature; if you have a fever of 37.5 degrees or higher, you will be denied entrance to the venue.
  • Photography is not allowed inside the venue.
  • To avoid crowding, do not congregate in or around the venue with family and friends. We ask that you leave the venue immediately following the conclusion of the ceremony.
  • Please register your smart device with the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare's COVID-19 Contact-Confirming Application (COCOA) before coming to the venue. We will ask you to show that you have registered with the app at reception.
  • Note that the format of this ceremony is subject to change due to changes in the status of the COVID-19 pandemic. We will announce any changes on Osaka University's official website should they arise.
