Overview

Selected as a school to implement the MEXT’s "Initiative for Realizing Diversity in the Research Environment (Collaboration Type), Osaka University, in cooperation with the National Institutes of Biomedical Innovation, Health and Nutrition (NIBIOHN) and Daikin Industries, Ltd., has been engaged in the career development of female researchers, which serves as the foundation for creating a diverse research environment, as well as promoting diversity in the local community.

As part of these endeavors, we’ve invited DEGUCHI Haruaki as a lecturer of this year’s seminar. Mr. Deguchi, a founder of Lifenet Insurance Co. and president of Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University (APU), is also well-known as an educator and avid reader.

The novel coronavirus dramatically changed the way we live and work. What kind of diversity is necessary in this new era? DEGUCHI Haruaki, a true modern titan of knowledge who has visited over 1200 cities around the world and read over 10,000 books, will join us to speak about diversity and inclusion.
