A Delegation from MIRAI-Setu Program Visited UOsaka on October 23, 2026
On October 23, 2026, 19 students from India participating in the MIRAI-Setu Program, an initiative sponsored by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA), visited UOsaka.
The MIRAI-Setu Program is an initiative of MOFA that aims to build a foundation for future academic exchange by inviting outstanding science and engineering students from Indian universities and graduate schools to Japan.
The program provides participants with opportunities to undertake two-week research internships at Japan-based companies in sectors such as manufacturing, startups, energy, IT, and services, as well as to visit universities and research institutes, experience cutting-edge research environments, and interact with Japanese students.
The program brings together 38 undergraduate and graduate students selected from Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Hyderabad, IIT Madras, IIT Guwahati, and Indian Institute of Information Technology, Design and Manufacturing (IIITDM) Jabalpur, and 19 of them visited UOsaka.
At the Small Hall of the Center for Infectious Disease Education and Research (CiDER), ARIUNAA Enkhtur, Associate Professor at the Institute for International Initiatives, gave an overview of UOsaka, followed by an exchange session with four Global Student Ambassadors.
After the Ambassadors shared their experiences of student life at UOsaka, participants joined group discussions. Under the theme of "What Makes an Ideal University?", each group discussed the topic from four different perspectives and presented their conclusions. After the discussions, Associate Professor ARIUNAA gave a more detailed introduction to UOsaka.
The group was then divided into two teams and visited the laboratories of Professor TSUSHIMA Shohji of the Graduate School of Engineering and Associate Professor SANTO Hiroaki of the D3 Center.
