
“Learning SDGs Globally and Locally” Online Intensive Course
The Center for Global Initiatives is pleased to offer "Learning SDGs Globally and Locally" Online Intensive Course (to be held online in August 22-29, 2022) as part of Osaka University SDGs Virtual Student Exchange-2022. Through lectures and discussion sessions, students will gain a coherent and situated understanding of SDGs framework, its global and local implications as well as needs for action.
Lecture topics
- Class 1. Orientation and Overview
- Class 2-5. Lectures and Discussions around 4 themes:
- Theme 1. Gender issues
- Theme 2. Equity and decent work
- Theme 3. Climate change and energy
- Theme 4. Biodiversity and the environment
- Class 6. Student discussion session
- Class 7. Public symposium
Eligibility
Students at Osaka University and its partner universities with virtual exchange agreements including member universities in APRU (https://apru.org/members/) and AEARU (http://www.aearu.org/members.html) consortiums.

Prerequisites
- In principle, you should be able to participate in all lectures in real time.
- Communication ability in English (regardless of score). Students who want to improve their English communication skills are also welcome.
- Interest in SDGs, sustainability, global communication, or creative work production is essential.
