Japanese Government (MEXT) Scholarship
This scholarship is funded by the Japanese Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT).
There are two application methods: embassy recommendation and university recommendation. For details, please refer to the following page.

Monbukagakusho Honors Scholarship for Privately Financed International Students
This program offers scholarships to privately financed international students enrolled in universities, graduate schools, junior colleges, colleges of technology, post-secondary courses at specialized training colleges, educational institutions with preparatory courses for entering Japanese universities, and Japanese language institutions in Japan (hereinafter collectively referred to as "universities, etc."). To apply, students must demonstrate excellence in both academic achievement and character, and must also be experiencing financial difficulties in pursuing their studies.

Scholarships from Private Organizations and Other Entities
Scholarships offered by private organizations and local governments may be applied for either through the University of Osaka or directly to the sponsoring organization. Most of these scholarships become available after enrollment.
Eligibility criteria, number of recipients, and other details vary depending on the scholarship.

Tuition Fee Exemption
Tuition Fee Exemption Program for Privately Funded International Students Experiencing Financial Difficulties
The tuition fee exemption program is designed for privately funded international students who excel academically but face difficulty paying tuition due to financial reasons. The application deadline is generally in late March for the first semester and late September for the second semester.

Tuition Fee Exemption for International Honors Students of the University of Osaka
The University of Osaka has a tuition fee exemption program for privately funded international students who have demonstrated excellent academic performance in their graduate school entrance examinations. This program aims to further strengthen research capabilities and promote the enrollment of international students.
International students who pass the designated entrance examination and are recognized for their excellence will be eligible for tuition fee exemption under this program.
