Information Room for International Students (IRIS)

On each campus, these spaces are open for international students to get to know each other, receive consultations and useful information, and participate in events. There are many opportunities to meet various people, including international and Japanese students, faculty and staff, international researchers and their families, local host families, and volunteers.

You can find our latest news in the IRIS Letter, which is released on an irregular basis.

  • Available for use: Computers (with internet access), books, magazines and other materials
  • Information and consultation: Scholarship, Japanese language, networking, events, recycle, study abroad, etc.

The service is available when:

  • You are unsure how to respond in an emergency, such as an accident
  • You face difficulties due to language or cultural issues
  • You suddenly feel ill during the night or on weekends

Campus Life Health and Counselling Center (HaCC)

To ensure that students, faculty, and staff at the University of Osaka can enjoy a fulfilling campus life, HaCC provides various services. A professional team, including doctors, counselors, coordinators, medical staff, and advisors, works together to offer daily support for health care, mental health, individuals with disabilities, harassment and other issues.

Consultation Offices for International Students

Some departments at the University of Osaka have their own consultation offices specifically for international students. Among these, the departments listed below provide not only academic and research-related support but also a wide range of services such as daily life consultations, information sharing, and social gatherings.

Contact List for Educational Affairs Staff

Administrative staff members are assigned to each faculty and graduate school to support all administrative procedures for international students, including admission procedures, course registration, issuance of various certificates, dormitory applications, scholarship and other financial aid applications, and more.
