February 13, 2013 -- An explanatory session and get-together between international students and companies hoping to employ them
In cooperation with the Osaka-Kobe University Network for Internationalization, an explanatory session and get-together between international students and companies hoping to employ them was held at Senri Hankyu Hotel on Wednesday, February 13.
This get-together was held in order to deepen mutual understanding between international students hoping to work for Japanese companies and companies hoping to hire international students as an important part of their workforce. Students not only from Osaka University, but also from other universities such as Kansai University, Kwansei Gakuin University, Kyoto University, Doshisha University, and Osaka Kyoiku University, participated in this event.
The 5 companies were Ishida Co., Ltd., NEC, JTB, Suitousha Corporation, and Neos Co., Ltd.
The program consisted of 3 parts. In the first part of the get-together, Mr. OYA of the Kansai Productivity Center delivered a speech on the type of personnel Japanese companies needed.
In the second part, following self-introductions by the five companies, a round-table talk with the companies and international students was held in a friendly atmosphere. In the last part an explanatory and Q and A session was held regarding a paid work placement project sponsored by the National Students Information Center (NASIC).
The international students demonstrated interest in working in Japan. Some participants said the explanation by the companies was easy to understand and they were able to get useful information.
