Self-Inspection & Self-Evaluation, and Accreditation
The School Education Act provides that universities must perform self-inspection and self-evaluation regarding their education, research, organization, management as well as facilities and their conditions and publicize the results.
In addition, all universities are obliged to be assessed by institutions certified by the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) once every 7 years (5 years for professional graduate schools) in order to assure and enhance the quality of education and research standards.

Osaka University performs self-inspection and self-evaluation according to standards set by the National Institution for Academic Degrees and Quality Enhancement of Higher Education (NIAD-QE), the results of which can be found below.

Osaka University applied for being reviewed by the National Institution for Academic Degrees and Quality Enhancement of Higher Education (NIAD-QE) according to Institutional Certified Evaluation and Accreditation and was certified as meeting the standards for evaluation and accreditation.
