Comprehensive Software Contract
Osaka University concluded a Microsoft Enterprise Agreement on January 2010. This contract enables all computers managed by the university to be upgraded to the latest Windows OS and have the latest version of MS Office installed free of charge. Faculty, staff, and regular students can install and upgrade their own personal computers free of charge.
We expect that this contract will be a great benefit by improving and standardizing the information and educational environments, including e-learning, student services, cost reduction, a decrease in the use of illegal software, establishing systematic compliance, and the internationalization of software accommodating 36 languages.
Learning and research in the optimal information environment of Osaka University is surely significant for individuals in improving information literacy and their abilities as members of society.
