[For individuals outside of the university] Osaka University's response to the COVID-19 pandemic
Measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19 at OU
Currently, Osaka University is imposing an entry restriction for its students, faculty, and staff to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus.
In accordance with this, with the exception of those who are involved in business with the university (i.e. individuals working on campus, those who have an appointment with OU faculty/staff members, the university’s designated suppliers), the general public is asked to refrain from coming to the university.
OU is taking adequate measures for preventing the spread of the virus based on its “Standard Policies for the Prevention of Infection at Osaka University, which conform with standard measures established by Osaka Prefecture. The university asks visitors to cooperate in the following measures.
Please wear a mask at all times while indoors, and when interacting (conversing/standing close by) with others while outdoors.
If you are experiencing a fever or cough, please refrain from coming to the university.

Individuals who will attend a meeting/event hosted by Osaka University
The schedules of meetings/events hosted by Osaka University are subject to change. Make sure to confirm the schedule with the meeting/event organizer.
To organizers of events using facilities on campus
When holding events, event organizers must call on participants to cooperate in preventing the spread of viruses and take measures for preventing infectious diseases, while keeping the following in mind:
- Ask participants to check their physical condition and refrain from attending the event if they feel unwell.
- Both organizers and participants should implement infection prevention.
- Make hand sanitizers and face masks available for participants.
- Prepare a venue that has good ventilation and attendees and staff can practice social distancing. ( Avoid the "Three Cs" )
- Choose an appropriate venue for the expected number of participants and arrange seating to allow participants to practice proper social distancing. (i.e., holding the event at a venue that has more than twice the capacity of the expected number of attendees)
- To prevent crowding, split visitors' use of public transportation between Hankyu Railway and Osaka Monorail.
- Disinfect the venue after the event.
