OU will continue to fulfill its mission post-COVID-19

During the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, Osaka University has been dedicated to supporting its communities, but even after the coronavirus crisis has passed, the university will continue its activities while reconciling itself to coexisting with the novel coronavirus, according to Osaka University’s COVID-19 response levels and Osaka University’s Standard Measures for Preventing Infections.

The university will conduct regular classes, while maintaining some online classes after the coronavirus crisis has passed. Researchers will resume their research at laboratories while avoiding the “Three Close ( sanmitsu , or 三密)" Conditions, or "Three Cs," i.e. closed spaces with poor ventilation, crowded places with many people, and close-contact settings, with some of them even engaging in COVID-19 related research.

Osaka University Hospital will treat severe COVID-19 patients, while taking all possible measures to prevent hospital infections, serving as a key local hospital.

Moving forward, the university will continue to fulfill its mission while responding to requests from the national and the local government.
