2026 The University of Osaka Entrance Ceremony

The University of Osaka will hold its 2026 Entrance Ceremony on April 2.

1. Date and Times
Thursday, April 2, 2026 - 1:30~2:30 p.m.

*After an intermission following the entrance ceremony, an orientation for new undergraduate students will be held. Accompanying individuals may stay in the ceremony venue. This orientation is scheduled to end at 3:40 p.m.

2. Venue
Osaka-Jo Hall (https://www.osaka-johall.com/access/）

Seating areas are divided as follows:
New undergraduate students (of schools other than the Schools of Engineering and Engineering Science): 1F Arena (Enter from the East Entrance)
New undergraduate students (of the Schools of Engineering and Engineering Science): 1F Arena (Enter from the South Entrances)
New graduate students: Internal side, second tier stand (Enter from the North/South Entrances)
Guests: External side, second tier stand (Eenter from the North/South Entrances)

3. Registration
Those who wish to attend the ceremony must register in advance.
Information regarding registration procedures is included in the document “Events Scheduled after Enrollment (for students enrolled in 2026) (入学当初の行事について（令和8年度入学者版）)” in the “Confirmation documents at the time of enrollment (入学当初の確認書類),” which will be delivered to new students by the university. Transfer students and graduate students can find an invitation to the entrance ceremony in the documents related to entering the university delivered to them by their respective school/graduate school.

*Up to 2 guests may accompany each new student.
*Both new students and their accompanying guests must register in advance.
*For those who cannot make it to the venue, a livestream of the ceremony will be available on YouTube.

4. Additional Information
- At the North Entrance, Osaka University COOP will set up a booth to sell the official The University of Osaka merchandise. Sales hours are as follows: 11:00 a.m.~12:30 p.m. / 1:30 p.m.~5:00 p.m.
- There is no parking available at the venue. Use public transportation to get to the venue. Attendees in wheelchairs or those who have injuries that cause difficulties in coming to Osaka-Jo Hall and wish to use the parking lot on the south side of the Hall should contact us at the above email address of this page by Tuesday, March 31, 2026. (All others are not allowed to park at the venue.)
- Attendees arriving in wheelchairs should use the elevator near the North Entrance and enter through the North Entrance.
- A stroller storage area will be set up near the north entrance on the second floor. Attendees arriving with strollers should enter through the north entrance.
- Sign language interpreters will be available at the front of the venue. Attendees who require this service are requested to inform the staff at the reception desk on the day.
- To prevent the venue’s surroundings (including the nearest station) from becoming crowded, refrain from meeting up with your family and friends and try to enter and exit the venue as promptly as possible.
