The University of Osaka will hold its 2025 Entrance Ceremony on April 8.

1. Date and Times

Tuesday, April 8, 2025 - 1:30~2:30 p.m.

Order of Ceremony

  • Opening
  • Undergraduate student oath
  • Graduate student oath
  • Address from the President
  • Introductions to executive directors and department heads
  • Performance by Symphony Orchestra
  • Performance by Male Chorus Club and Mixed Chorus Club
  • Performance by Cheerleading Team
  • Closing

*After a 20-minute intermission following the entrance ceremony, an orientation for new undergraduate students will be held. Accompanying individuals may stay in the ceremony venue. This orientation is scheduled to end at 3:40 p.m.

2. Venue

Osaka-jo Hall (https://www.osaka-johall.com/access/)

Seating areas are divided as follows:

  • New undergraduate students (of the Schools of Engineering and Engineering Science): 1F Arena (Enter from the East Entrance)
  • New undergraduate students (of schools other than the Schools of Engineering and Engineering Science): 1F Arena (Enter from the North/South Entrances)
  • New graduate students: Internal side, second tier stand (Enter from the North/South Entrances)
  • Guests: External side, second tier stand (Eenter from the North/South Entrances)

3. Registration

Those who wish to attend the ceremony must register in advance.

Information regarding registration procedures is included in the document “Events Scheduled after Enrollment in April 2025 (令和7年度入学当初の行事について)” in the “Documents Related to Entering The University of Osaka (大阪大学入学関係資料),” which will be sent to new students. Transfer students and graduate students can find an invitation to the entrance ceremony in the documents related to entering the university delivered to them by their respective school/graduate school.

*Up to 2 guests may accompany each new student.
*Both new students and their accompanying guests must register in advance.
*For those who cannot make it to the venue, a livestream of the ceremony will be available on YouTube.

4. Additional Information

- You can purchase official Osaka University merchandise at an Osaka University COOP booth set up near the North Entrance during the following times: 11:00 a.m.~12:30 p.m. / 1:30 p.m.~5:00 p.m.

*There is no parking available at the venue. Use public transportation to get to the venue. Dropping others off in the vicinity of the venue causes traffic jams. Refrain from coming by car.

*Attendees in wheelchairs or those who have injuries that cause difficulties in coming to Osaka-Jo Hall and wish to use the parking lot on the south side of the Hall should call the phone number at the bottom of this page by Monday, March 31, 2025. (All others are not allowed to park at the venue.)

*To prevent the venue’s surroundings (including the nearest station) from becoming crowded, refrain from meeting up with your family and friends and try to enter and exit the venue as promptly as possible.
