In celebration of International Women’s Day, Osaka University’s UNESCO Chair Program MeW Project will be hosting an international symposium to discuss the challenges and importance of promoting education about menstrual health and installing sanitary pad dispensers in schools.
This symposium has invited Dr. Marni Sommer (Professor, Columbia University's Mailman School of Public Health), a leader in the the gender equality movement, including menstrual hygiene management, Dr. SUZUKI Sachiko (Professor Emeritus, former Vice President, Dean of Faculty of Nursing, Saitama Prefectural University) who specializes in nursing science, and Ms. MITSUKURI Miyuki, Manager, Department of Citizen Services, Akashi City, which began providing sanitary products in schools.
In this event, resentations and a panel discussion will be held in a hybrid modality with both online and in-person sessions.
