Medical Device Design Course 2022 Module 4 (Interactive Online Course)

The Osaka University Global Center for Medical Engineering and Informatics (MEI Center) is accepting applications for Module 3 in the Medical Device Design (MDD) Course, an online course for device designers.

This course consists of 4 modules, totaling 96 hours of classes and group work over the course of 5 months.

Module 1) Clinical Medicine: Clinical medicine required for medical devices development

Module 2) Project Management: Laws and regulations regarding medical products, such as pharmaceuticals and medical devices

Module 3) Equipment Training: Medical devices in clinical practice

Module 4) Practice: Learning about medical device reimbursement and more from a director of medical device development

In Module 4, in order to turn medical device development into a successful business, participants will get practical advice from specialists who have experienced difficulties and failure in medical device development in companies and other organizations about the keys to success.

Participants will also learn what medical devices are covered by the government health insurance scheme and how medical device fees are decided.

This module is designed to develop specialists who can make a business plan after taking these factors into consideration.
