Medical Device Design Course 2022 Module 3 (Interactive Online Course)

The Osaka University Global Center for Medical Engineering and Informatics (MEI Center) is accepting applications for Module 3 in the Medical Device Design (MDD) Course, an online course for device designers.

This course consists of 4 modules, totaling 96 hours of classes and group work over the course of 5 months.

• Module 1) Clinical Medicine: Clinical medicine required for medical devices development
• Module 2) Project Management: Laws and regulations regarding medical products, such as pharmaceuticals and medical devices
• Module 3) Equipment Training: Medical devices in clinical practice
• Module 4) Practice: Learning about medical device reimbursement and more from a director of medical device development

In Module 3, participants will learn about the latest medical devices currently used in diverse settings from the viewpoint of doctors and patients. Learning about the functions, characteristics, and the development process of these medical devices will be useful for participants to develop their medical devices.

In the intellectual property management training by a patent attorney, participants will think about how to protect intellectual property rights of their medical devices.

This module is designed to develop specialists who can give a concrete shape to needs in medical setting.

Individuals involved in medical device development and those thinking of entering this field are cordially invited to participate.
