Announcement of the 2021-2022 Graduation Ceremony and Graduate School Commencement Ceremony (updated March 16, 2021)

The Graduation Ceremony and Graduate School Commencement Ceremony for the 2021~2022 academic year will be held as noted below.

Note that due to the current status of the COVID-19 pandemic, attendance to this ceremony will be limited to new graduates only.

Admission to the hall begins from 9:30 a.m. Please enter the hall before 10:30 a.m.

Important: Measures to Reduce the Spread of COVID-19

  • Please wear a mask, practice proper cough etiquette, use hand sanitizer, and refrain from having loud conversations at the venue.
  • Individuals who: (a) have been in close contact with someone who had contracted COVID-19, (b) have been in Japan for less than 2 weeks after returning from a country or region that requires a quarantine period, or (c) have been in close contact with an individual during their quarantine period should not come to the venue.
  • Please take your temperature on the day of the ceremony. If you are experiencing a fever of 37.5 degrees or higher or if you don’t have a fever 37.5 degrees or higher but you are not feeling well (weakness, cough, sore throat, etc.), do not come to the venue. There will also be thermal imaging cameras at the entrance of the venue to take your temperature; if you have a fever of 37.5 degrees or higher, you will be denied entrance to the venue.
  • To avoid crowding, do not congregate in or around the venue. We ask that you leave the venue immediately following the conclusion of the ceremony.
  • Please register your smart device with the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare's COVID-19 Contact-Confirming Application (COCOA) before coming to the venue. We will ask you to show that you have registered with the app at reception. ( Google Play | App Store )
  • Advance registration is required to participate in the ceremony. Information regarding registration forms has been provided from your school and posted to KOAN.
  • Attendance to this ceremony will be limited to new graduates only. However, we will offer livestreaming of the ceremony on a special page of the official website of Osaka University. The URL for this special page has been provided from your school and posted to KOAN, so please tell your family and friends. (Note that as the ceremony will be streamed live, attendees at the venue may be filmed.)
  • The format of this ceremony is subject to change due to changes in the status of the COVID-19 pandemic. We will announce any changes on Osaka University's official website should they arise.

Notes

  • There is no parking at the venue, so please use public transportation when coming to the ceremony. Also, please refrain from picking up and dropping off passengers in the vicinity of the venue. For more information on accessing Osaka-Jo Hall, please visit their website linked below.
  • Photography is not allowed inside the venue. However, you may take photos once seated inside the venue.
