JST Fellowship Program for Pre-doctoral Researchers for Creating Science and Technology Innovation
This program supports pre-doctoral students, who are expected to create science and technology innovation in the future, by offering financial support and career paths after completing their doctorate courses under the university-wide strategies in order to secure excellent students.
JST: Japan Science and Technology Agency, a funding agency for research, overseen by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT)
This fellowship program provides support according to the type of research proposal with a view to create innovation in the future: university-initiated research proposal (bottom-up type) and research field designated by the government (top-down type).
From the University of Osaka, one Bottom-Up and three Top-Down research proposals were selected for this program as noted below.
UOsaka's Research Proposal (Bottom-Up Type)
Research proposals for academic fields (including liberal arts and social science) in which the university can create innovation using its own strengths as well as those of the region

Research proposals for academic fields designated by the government that have a high demand for talent in both industry and academia (such as Information Science/AI, Quantum Mechanics, Materials Science, etc.)
