Self-inspection and Assessment (#4)

Osaka University performed its fourth self-inspection and assessment according to its Policies for Internal Quality Assurance in Education and Guidelines for Educational Assessment for Internal Quality Assurance in Education.

In its fourth self-inspection and assessment for the 2022-23 academic year, the university examined the current states of its degree programs, undergraduate and graduate schools, and the university as a whole in order to understand the implementation status of education based on education policies as well as academic achievements of students.

The university conducted self-assessment for these results, discussing how to respond to challenges that emerged during the inspection.

Their self-inspection and assessment showed positive results due to excellent educational efforts by undergraduate and graduate schools, such as the improvement of academic major systems and student support systems.

During the 2022-23 academic year, while the university mostly returned in-person classes, its schools and graduate schools, based on their experience and know-how in online classes acquired during the COVID-19 pandemic, offer both in-person and online classes, depending on the objective of each class. This shows that blended learning (hybrid/HyFlex ("hybrid flex") learning), which the university promoted after the pandemic, has become more prevalent at the university.

Characteristic approaches of these schools and their results were shared with undergraduate and graduate schools at the Curriculum Committee meeting held in October 2023.
