Self-inspection and Assessment (#1)

Osaka University performed its first self-inspection and assessment according to its Policies for Internal Quality Assurance in Education and Guidelines for Educational Assessment for Internal Quality Assurance in Education.

In its first self-inspection and assessment for the period from the 2019-20 academic year through the summer term of the 2020-21 academic year, the university examined the current states of its degree programs, undergraduate and graduate schools, and the university as a whole in order to quickly consider how to provide education during and after the COVID-19 pandemic.

The university conducted self-assessment for these results, discussing how to respond to challenges that emerged during the inspection.

The self-inspection and assessment showed positive results due to excellent educational efforts by undergraduate and graduate schools, such as the improvement of academic major systems and student support systems.

The university also confirmed challenges associated with online classes, which increased due to the spread of COVID-19 pandemic but had to be addressed university-wide. These challenges were shared with undergraduate and graduate schools at the Curriculum Committee meeting held in March 2021.
