Financial aid offered by municipal governments and private organizations

Note : The financial aid mentioned in this section is not intended for international students or for studying abroad.
About the financial aids for international students, please check the KOAN bulletin board [For international students] or contact your school / graduate school.

Financial aid offered by a municipal government and/or a private organization is granted or loaned to students possessing good character and good health and who have achieved a superior academic record, but who are encountering difficulties in paying tuition due to circumstances beyond their control. Please note, however, that budget limitations may prevent the awarding of aid to all such applicants.

Furthermore, once you become a financial aid recipient of a private organization, your relationship with such organization will in some way continue after graduation. You need to be conscious of having been recommended by the University of Osaka as a financial aid recipient, work hard, and fulfill your obligations as a recipient -- participate in get-togethers, interviews, and workshops hosted by such organizations as well as submit a statement on your living situation, grade reports, and financial aid receipts. If you fail to perform these obligations, financial assistance to you may be canceled. Therefore, you need to apply for such financial aid after considering whether you can fulfill the obligations that come with such aid.

There are two types of financial aid offered by municipal governments and private organizations: (1) aid in which the university chooses and recommends the candidate, and (2) aid for which the applicant directly applies.
