Teacher Certification Course
At Osaka University, it is possible to acquire a type 1 license for a junior high school or senior high school teacher or school nurse in an undergraduate program and an advanced license for a junior high school or senior high school teacher or school nurse in a graduate program.

differs depending on school, graduate school, department, and major.

- In order to acquire a teaching certificate, the credits necessary must be earned in keeping with the Educational Personnel Certification Law.
- For details, please check the booklet or course list for your year available at the Student Affairs Section, Education Planning Division, Department of Education and Student Affairs and the Educational Affairs Section at your school.
Teaching Training Booklets
Osaka University has prepared booklets for teacher and nurse training.
There are three booklets:
• Invitation to teacher training -- A guidebook for obtaining a teaching
license
• Steps for a future teacher -- Teacher/school nurse practice notebook
• Nursing care guidebook & log book -- To further deepen one's experience and learning
Booklet 1 is given to newly enrolled students at the time of Teacher Certification Course Guidance A.
These booklets will be available at the Student Affairs Section, Education Planning Division, Department of Education and Student Affairs (Suita Campus) and the Education Affairs Section of your school as well as the Center for Education in Liberal Arts and Sciences (Toyonaka Campus).
Students hoping to take the teacher certification course must read this booklet.
(The color of the cover and content of each book will vary by entrance year, so make sure to get the booklet for your year.)
You will receive Booklet 2 at the Advance Guidance for Education and Nursing Practicums and Booklet 3 at Orientation for Nursing Care Practicum.

Applying for a Teaching License
- Submit the application for your teaching license to the Board of Education in a prefecture of your choice.
- The certificate verifying your academic ability, which is necessary for your application, is issued from the Educational Affairs staff of your school.
- For your reference: Obtaining Certificates for Graduates
- Osaka University collectively applies for teaching certificates for those who are expected to graduate in March or who complete a doctor's course.
- Acceptances for the collective application are scheduled for mid August - mid September every year. Details will be posted on the KOAN bulletin board (teaching certification course) as soon as the schedule is finalized.
