Inheritance Seminars
At Inheritance Seminars, special lectures are held by inheritance experts and OU graduates. There are also individual consulting sessions, where attendees can consult with tax accountants and consultants.
Those with questions or worries about inheritance are welcome to take part in this seminar.

On Sunday, November 24th, 2019, the 7th Osaka University Inheritance Seminar was held at Osaka University's Nakanoshima Center, with 37 individuals in 28 groups in attendance.

6th Inheritance Seminar
On Sunday, October 28, 2018, the 6th Osaka University Inheritance Seminar was held at Osaka University's Nakanoshima Center, with 20 individuals in 16 groups in attendance.
In the special seminar, TANIMOTO Atsuhiro (Graduate, School of Law; Executive Officer, Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation) delivered a lecture entitled "Tips for a smooth inheritance - Avoiding family disputes for a smooth inheritance (with real-world examples)," breaking down personal examples in a format that was easy for attendees to understand.
In addition, 9 individuals in 7 groups attended the individual consulting sessions with inheritances specialists in part 2 of the seminar.

5th Inheritance Seminar (Saturday, March 17, 2018)
On Saturday, March 17, the 5th Osaka University Inheritance Seminar was held at Osaka University's Nakanoshima Center, with 52 individuals in attendance.
In part 1 of the seminar, SAITOH Kei (Graduate, School of Law; Toyonaka Area Branch Manager, Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation) delivered a special seminar entitled "Advice regarding inheritance with specific examples based on real accounts in the course of my work," in which he analyzed specific examples in a way that was easy for attendees to understand.

4th Inheritance Seminar (Sunday, December 3, 2017)
On Sunday, December 3, the 4th Inheritance Seminar was held in Tokyo for OU alumni by experts in the field of inheritance. This was the first time that an Inheritance Seminar was held in Tokyo, and the seminar was hosted by the Tokyo Branch of the Graduate School of Medicine/Engineering, Osaka University. Twenty-three individuals primarily consisting of alumni from Osaka University and Osaka University of Foreign Studies living in Tokyo were in attendance.
Part 1 of the seminar was a lecture by SATOH Masanobu (Chief Financial Consultant, Sumitomo Mitsui Trust Bank; Graduate of the School of Law, Osaka University) entitled "Towards a Smooth Inheritance," in which he spoke about some of the challenges of inheritance in an easy-to-understand format. Part 2 consisted of personal consultations, in which 3 experts, who are also OU graduates, helped to answer concerns and specific strategies regarding inheritance, which was met with high praise from those in attendance.
3rd Inheritance Seminar (Sunday, November 13, 2016)
On November 13, 2016, the 3rd Inheritance Seminar was held at Osaka University Nakanoshima Center to answer concerns over inheritance of alumni of Osaka University and Osaka University of Foreign Studies. This seminar also included individual consultations, responding to various individual needs.
2nd Inheritance Seminar (Sunday, November 15, 2015)
The 2nd Inheritance Seminar was held at Osaka University's Nakanoshima Center on Sunday, November 15, 2015.
This seminar was started last year for graduates of Osaka University and Osaka University of Foreign Studies in response to the rising interest in the problems involved with "inheritance," which are reflected in the progression of the current aging society.
Due to the positive response to the 1st Inheritance Seminar held last year, in addition to graduates and related individuals of OU and OUFS, this seminar was also open to the general public, drawing 80 attendees.
UEDA Ken (Lawyer) and TANAKA Toshio (Tax Lawyer), both graduates of Osaka University, served as lecturers for this seminar, providing enthusiastic attendees with deep and detailed lectures over the span of a total of 3 hours.

3rd Seven Universities Junior Association Lecture (Saturday, August 8, 2015)
On Saturday, August 8, 2015, the Seven Universities Junior Association, an alumni association aimed at graduates of the seven original national universities at Japan aged 45 or younger, held a lecture at Osaka University's Nakanoshima Center in Kita-ku, Osaka. 54 attendees consisting mainly of residents of the Kansai area deepened exchange between the universities.
After a general explanation from Seven Universities Junior Association Chair Jico Hui, Osaka University Distinguished Professor ISHIGURO Hiroshi delivered a lecture on "Understanding People Through Robotics Research."The attendees listened to the lecture with bated breath as the lecture went over the scheduled time. The group discussion and questions that followed did little to cool the excitement, leading to a heated Q&A session.
At the social gathering following the lecture, the alumni broke into teams to answer original quiz questions based on the Seven Universities. Professor ISHIGURO's book was awarded to the winning team, which quickly turned into an autograph book.
