Those affected by natural disasters will be exempted from 2021 entrance examination fees payment.

In order to reduce financial burden and provide educational opportunities to prospective students affected by natural disasters, Osaka University will take the following special measure, namely exemption of 2021 entrance examination fees payment:

1. Measure to be taken:

*Note: Non-regular students such as credited auditors are not eligible for this exemption.

2. Disasters covered by this exemption:

  • Great East Japan Earthquake (Tohoku Earthquake)
  • Kumamoto Earthquake
  • Heavy rains in July 2018
  • 2018 Osaka earthquake
  • 2018 Hokkaido Eastern Iburi earthquake
  • Typhoon #15 (2019)
  • Typhoon #19 (2019)
  • Heavy rains in July 2020

To those affected by the heavy rains in July 2020

Osaka University extends its sincere sympathies to those affected by the heavy rains in July 2020. The university also offers its deepest condolences for the lives that were lost due to the effects of the typhoon.

The university has added those individuals affected by the heavy rains in July 2020 to those eligible for exemption of examination fees.

Individuals who are unable to submit their application form by the deadline because of damage incurred by the heavy rains in July 2020 are encouraged to contact the appropriate admissions division by following this link.
