カタリン・カリコ氏とドリュー・ワイスマン氏の2023年ノーベル生理学・医学賞受賞に祝意

カタリン・カリコ氏とドリュー・ワイスマン氏の２０２３年のノーベル生理学・医学賞受賞に際し、心からお慶び申し上げます。

お二人の研究成果は、新型コロナウイルスのmRNAワクチンの開発に大きく貢献するものです。
本学においても、微生物病研究所、免疫学フロンティア研究センターを擁し、また、次のパンデミックに備えるための感染症総合教育研究拠点ならびに先端モダリティ・ドラッグデリバリーシステム研究センターを新たに立ち上げて、研究を強力に進めております。

特に、カタリン・カリコ氏は本学の研究者とも縁が深い方であり、長年にわたりこの研究分野を強力に推進してきた大阪大学として、カタリン・カリコ氏とドリュー・ワイスマン氏、お二人の栄誉を心からお祝い申し上げます。

Osaka University would like to extend our sincere congratulations to Professors Katalin Karikó and Drew Weissman on receiving the 2023 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine.
Their research achievements have made a major contribution in the development of mRNA vaccines for novel coronaviruses.

Osaka University has established the Research Institute for Microbial Diseases and the Immunology Frontier Research Center, as well as the Center for Infectious Disease Education and Research and the Center for Advanced Modalities and DDS (Drug Delivery System) to prepare for the next pandemic, and to strongly promote research.

Professor Katalin Karikó has close ties to researchers at Osaka University. As the President of Osaka University, which has also long promoted this research field, we are delighted to see this honor extend to both Professors Katalin Karikó and Drew Weissman.
