Welcome Message
Welcome from the President of The University of Osaka
On behalf of The University of Osaka (UOsaka), it is my great pleasure to welcome you to the 4th Japan–Vietnam University Presidents' Conference, which we are honored to co-host with Hanoi University of Science and Technology (HUST).
Since its inception, this conference has served as an important platform for strengthening academic exchange, mutual understanding, and collaboration between universities in Japan and Vietnam. Through our continued engagement over the years, we have expanded cooperation in education, research, innovation, and human resource development.
Universities play a vital role in advancing knowledge, nurturing future generations, and fostering mutual understanding across national and cultural boundaries. In today's rapidly changing world, this role has become more important than ever. This year's conference will be held under the theme, “Achievements and Future Vision of Japan–Vietnam Academic Collaboration.” This reflects our shared commitment to promoting academic excellence, cultivating globally minded leaders, and exploring how universities can contribute to the sustainable development and prosperity of both Japan and Vietnam. The conference will bring together universities from Japan and Vietnam, as well as government and industry representatives, to exchange perspectives and ideas.
We are delighted to welcome distinguished guests, colleagues, and partners from across Japan and Vietnam to Osaka. I hope this conference will provide valuable opportunities for meaningful dialogue, new partnerships, and deeper collaboration.
I look forward to seeing the friendship and academic cooperation between our two countries continue to flourish in the years ahead.
Prof. KUMANOGOH Atsushi

Welcome from the President of Hanoi University of Science and Technology
On behalf of Hanoi University of Science and Technology (HUST), I extend a warm welcome to university leaders, scholars, and distinguished guests from Japan and Vietnam. We are honored to co-host the 4th Japan–Vietnam University Presidents’ Conference with The University of Osaka, bringing together our higher education communities to strengthen dialogue, deepen mutual understanding, and explore new opportunities for collaboration.
As the world faces increasingly complex global challenges, universities are expected not only to generate new knowledge but also to educate responsible citizens, promote innovation, contribute to sustainable development, and strengthen international cooperation. These aspirations can only be achieved through closer collaboration across institutions, disciplines, and national borders.
The Japan–Vietnam University Presidents’ Conference provides an important platform to exchange ideas, strengthen institutional partnerships, expand collaborative research and academic mobility, and share experiences in higher education, university governance, and community engagement. More importantly, it reflects our shared belief that universities have a vital role in building a more inclusive, resilient, and sustainable future.
Hanoi University of Science and Technology highly values its long-standing partnerships with Japanese universities and organizations. We remain committed to deepening these relationships while fostering broader collaboration across the higher education communities of both countries.
I sincerely hope that our discussions over the coming days will generate new ideas, strengthen lasting partnerships, and further deepen the friendship between the higher education communities of Japan and Vietnam.
