Interesting trivia: "Massan" and Osaka University

Did you know? ... TAKETSURU Masataka (nicknamed Massan), the protagonist in the NHK drama Massan , studied at the Department of Brewage, Osaka Technical School, the predecessor of Osaka University's School of Engineering.
At that time, the Department of Brewage at Osaka Technical School was the only school that conducted research in brewing and brewing techniques. The school produced Massan and many others who pioneered the modern Japanese brewing industry.
