Visits for prospective students

University Visit

Please carefully read the following instructions and fill out/send the “Osaka University Campus Visit Application” to the undergraduate/graduate school or research institute you would like to visit at least two months prior to your visit. We make efforts to accept as many requests as possible; however, please understand that we might not be able to meet your request due to high visitor volume.  

*Completion of the application form is not a reservation. We will contact you to confirm your request or inquire about any additional dates you may have available.

1) From high schools

We arrange university visits for groups of a minimum of 10 high school students and teachers. Please fill out the “Osaka University Campus Visit Application Form” and email it to the undergraduate/graduate school or research institute you would like to visit at least two months prior to your visit (for email addresses, please check the contact information list below). If you don’t find the contact address of the institution(s) you would like to visit, please email the application form to:

2) From universities

There are no set minimum numbers of students/faculty and staff members. However, we prioritize university visits from schools with which we have signed an agreement. Please fill out the “Osaka University Campus Visit Application Form” and email it to the undergraduate/graduate school or research institute you would like to visit at least two months prior to your visit (for email addresses, please check the contact information list below). If you don’t find the contact address of the institution(s) you would like to visit, please email the application form to:

3) From other institutions/organizations

For university visits from elementary/junior high schools, please follow the instructions for high schools above. Please note that we are unfortunately unable to arrange university visits from for-profit organizations including tour agencies.

4) For individuals

We are unfortunately unable to coordinate school visits for individuals. However, you are always welcome to visit if you would like to explore our campuses by yourself.

Special Notes on your University Visit

Please note:

  1. We ask that you please use public transportation to visit the university. For those who must use a tour bus, please inform us in advance. After completing certain procedures, you may be dropped off and picked up on campus at a designated area, but parking is not available. Please move the tour bus to an off-campus location as soon as possible after being dropped off. Osaka University does not provide parking locator services. Also, Osaka University assumes no responsibility for any trouble or accidents encountered on its campuses.
  2. Those who plan to visit Osaka University individually may walk freely around campus as well as utilize our shops and restaurants without an application. However, we ask that you please do not enter any academic or research facilities except those from which you have obtained permission. Restaurants are crowded during the lunch hour (12:00 p.m. ~ 1:00 p.m.). You are encouraged to avoid this time frame when utilizing dining facilities.
  3. We will only be able to accept your visit from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekdays; however, the Museum of Osaka University is also open on Saturdays. Please understand that we may not be able to accept your request during the examination period and on Sundays, national holidays, during the summer and winter holidays and on other specially designated days.
  4. Smoking is prohibited in all areas on all campuses.
