COVID-19 case at Osaka University
A student of Osaka University has tested positive for COVID-19. (Case #3289 in Osaka Prefecture)
A survey by the Health Center of the student's record of activity showed that there was one potential high-risk contact, but this contact tested negative for COVID-19 via a PCR test on Tuesday, July 28. All facilities used by the affected student have since been disinfected.
We wish the affected student a speedy recovery.

Details of the affected students activity
• Wednesday, July 22 - Student develops a fever
• Monday, July 27 - Student tests positive for COVID-19 via PCR test
• Student received care at home until Tuesday, July 28, and at a designated lodging facility from Wednesday, July 29
The affected student did enter the Toyonaka Campus on Tuesday, July 21, but a survey conducted by the Health Center found no interaction with any individual during the affected student's time on campus that would produce any high-risk contacts.
Osaka University has informed faculty, staff,
and students about
measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19 based on policies from
the central government and Osaka Prefecture.
The university will continue its efforts to
prevent the spread of COVID-19.
