Applications are being accepted for the 21st Presidential Awards for Extracurricular Activities

The Presidential Awards for Extracurricular Activities were established for the purpose of recognizing outstanding extracurricular activities and in order to reinvigorate and improve student activities. This year marks the 21st anniversary.
Applications for the 21st Presidential Awards for Extracurricular Activities are now being accepted according to the following guidelines:

1. Purpose

To improve and further intensify extracurricular activities of Osaka University's students

2. Commendations

(1) Commendations will be for outstanding achievement as well as special recognition.

(2) Achievement will be recognized by a certificate of merit as well as an extra prize.

3. Criteria for the awards

To be eligible for a prize, an activity in the period from April 2019 through March 2020 must meet one of the following criteria:

(1) Outstanding performance such as a championship victory in a competition outside the university. (2) Outstanding performance such as a championship victory in a competition involving multiple universities. (3) A well-deserved reputation bringing honor to the university. (4) A significant contribution to volunteer activities. (5) Recognition for having done something equivalent to or more than conditions (1) ~ (4) noted above

4. Eligibility

Groups and individuals belonging to Osaka University and OU alumni who graduated in March 2020

5. How to apply

Please submit an Extracurricular Activities Report Form as well as documents which objectively verify the achievements written on the form to a Student Center (Suita, Toyonaka, or Minoh).

Submit an Extracurricular Activities Report Form detailing the activity and its performance/achievement for the period from April 2019 through March 2020 (submissions may be made via hard copy (A4-size) and digitally (Excel file).)

Please submit any pamphlets, booklets, and media coverage such as newspaper articles. (Copies (A4-size) will also be accepted.)

Please number each document and highlight each relevant section of submitted media coverage in red.

Alumni who graduated in March 2020 should submit any hard copies to the address listed in 9. Contact below.

6. Application deadline

Thursday, August 20 , 2020 - 17:00

(Applications postmarked on or before the application deadline will be accepted.)

7. Screening

The Student Life Committee will deliberate in determining the winners of the awards.

Applicants will be informed by late November.

Please keep in mind that winners must attend an award ceremony scheduled for December.

8. Additional information

These awards are conducted with the support of the Osaka University Future Funds. If you are the recipient of this award, please note that we may ask for your cooperation with Future Funds publications (such as submitting photos/reports of your work).
