On Monday, July 29, the Institute for Advanced Co-Creation Studies (IACS) Symposium was held at the Osaka University Co-Creative Innovation Building. 60 individuals were in attendance at the symposium from both inside and outside of the university.

IACS was established in order to employ and develop outstanding global young researchers who have high-level research management ability and a high standard of ethnics and who promote world-class academic research. In this symposium, seven specially-appointed faculty members who were appointed during and after 2018 presented the results of their research.

The symposium beginning with an opening remark by IACS Director NISHIO Shojiro was followed by greetings from two IACS supporters, Chairman YAMANISHI Kouichi of the BIKEN Group and Vice Director KAWAHARA Katsumi of the Technology Innovation Center at Daikin Industries, Ltd. Following this, IACS Vice Director YAGI Yasushi gave an overview of the Institute.

In the presentations, six specially-appointed faculty members in bioscience and one specially-appointed faculty member in information science spoke about their research results.

Though their time was limited, their presentations gave attendees a look at some of the outstanding research performed by faculty members at the Institute, as well as an opportunity to ask questions in a Q&A session following the presentations, making for a meaning symposium for all in attendance.
