Regarding the time frame for the relocation to the new Minoh Campus

On May 7, 2019, press statements were released from Minoh City and other sources regarding “delays in extension of the Kita-Osaka Kyuko Railway.”

Currently, the construction of new education and research facilities and student dormitories is ongoing as planned toward the completion of the project in March 2021. Osaka University confirmed with Minoh City that the construction of its new library and deck is slated for completion as well.

As such, Osaka University has decided to move forward on the relocation to the new Minoh Campus in April 2021 as originally scheduled.

With regards to commuting of students, faculty, and staff members to the new Minoh Campus, the university will work together with Minoh City and other related parties in order to ensure smooth operation of the new campus after its opening via rail replacement bus services and other alternative commuting methods. We will keep you informed about the progress.
