Four Osaka University students receive awards at the 11th Vietnamese Speech Contest

On Saturday, November 4, 2017, four Osaka University students received awards at the 11th Vietnamese Speech Contest, including a grand prize winner.

This contest was held by Kanda University of International Studies, with support from the Embassy of the Social Republic of Vietnam in Japan, at KUIS Millennium Hall. Six universities, two vocational schools, and one high school participated in the contest, whose themes were "Vietnam and I, 10 Years in the Future" and "Trials and Growth."

Ms. Sae HAMASAKI (1st year, Vietnamese Department, School of Foreign Studies) entered the competition in Category A (Poetry Reading Division), and received high praise for her speaking and expression, earning her the Grand Prize in her category. Category B (2nd Year Speech Division) saw a 1st place finish by Mr. Taisei MORIMOTO (2nd year, Vietnamese Department, School of Foreign Studies) and a 3rd place finish by Ms. Nana ASADA (2nd year, Vietnamese Department, School of Foreign Studies). Ms. Haruka ASHIDA (4th year, Vietnamese Department, School of Foreign Studies) placed 1st in Category D (3rd/4th Year Students with Study Abroad Experience Speech Division).

All four OU students in the competition received awards in a total of 3 categories. Great job to all!
