The title of Osaka University Distinguished Professor granted to Professor Yoshimori

The title of Osaka University Distinguished Professor was awarded to Professor YOSHIMORI Tamotsu at the Graduate School of Frontier Biosciences as of July 1, 2017.

On Tuesday, July 11, President Nishio presented the commemorative plaque to Professor Yoshimori at the Ceremony for Granting of the Title held at the Administration Bureau on Osaka University's Suita Campus.

In order to increase motivation of its faculty members and secure outstanding individuals who support university management, Osaka University established the title of "Osaka University Distinguished Professor" in 2017-2018 academic year. This title is awarded to Osaka University professors and those who have previously held the title of Osaka University Distinguished Professor, have received prestigious awards such as the Nobel Prize, Order of Cultural Merit, Fields Medal, Person of Cultural Merit, The Japan Academy Prize, The Japan Academy Duke of Edinburgh Prize, Japan Art Academy Prize, The Japan Prize, Medal with Purple Ribbon, the Kyoto Prize, and the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science Award, among others, and serve a pioneering role in the promotion of education, research, and social contribution at the university.
