OGATA Koan Memorial Lecture - An Evening at Tekijuku

At the memorial service held at Tekijuku on Monday, June 5 to remember the date of OGATA Koan's death on June 10, 1863 in the lunisolar calendar, attendees remembered the teachings of the past by listening to lectures in a variety of different fields.

This year, lectures were given by Professor YONEDA Nobuko of the Graduate School of Language and Culture on "Looking at African Languages from a Viewpoint of Japanese Language: Contrastive Linguistics of Japanese and Bantu Languages" and Specially Appointed Professor KITAOKA Yoshio of the Institute for Datability Science on "Cutting-Edge Materials Science in Your Daily Life: Viewing Things from the Perspective of 'More is Different.'"
