Professor KISHIMOTO Tadamitsu to receive the King Faisal International Prize

Specially Appointed Professor KISHIMOTO Tadamitsu at the Osaka University Immunology Frontier Research Center (IFReC), a former President of Osaka University, has been chosen to receive the 2017 King Faisal International Prize. The Award Ceremony will be held in Riyadh in the presence of King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud of Saudi Arabia in April 2017.

The King Faisal Foundation has presented King Faisal International Prizes since 1979. The foundation awards prizes in five major categories: Service to Islam, Islamic Studies, Arabic Language and Literature, Medicine, and Science. Achievements of candidates for this prize are carefully examined, and many of the recipients have also received prestigious awards such as the Nobel Prize.
