To students and their parents/guardians,
KOBAYASHI Tadashi

Financial support for those affected by the earthquakes in the Kumamoto and Oita areas
First, I want to take this opportunity to offer my condolences for those who lost their lives in the Kumamoto and Oita earthquakes of April 2016, and to express my sympathy to those whose lives were affected by the disaster.
Osaka University will provide several types of financial support to those households affected by the disaster. Those wishing to apply should directly contact the appropriate address listed at the bottom of this page.
1. Tuition Fee Exemption
We will be accepting applications for tuition fee exemption for those households that cannot pay academic fees due to the disaster until 16:30 on Friday, May 6. (As a rule, this exemption will require submission of a Disaster Victim Certificate.) Those who wish to apply should directly contact the Suita Student Center.
In addition, those individuals who have already applied to receive tuition fee exemptions should also submit a Disaster Victim Certificate to the Suita Student Center if their household was affected by the disaster.
2. JASSO Financial Aid
Students can receive urgent (interest-free) and less-urgent (loan with interest) financial aid. For more information, please visit the website below.
