Osaka University Awarded the 1st Sustainable Campus Award

On Friday, November 13, the 2015 Sustainable Campus Convention was held at Chiba University.　Osaka University was awarded the 1st Sustainable Campus Encouragement Award at the award ceremony during the convention.

Osaka University implemented (1) the installation of 801kW solar power generators, (2) energy-saving measures using an electricity consumption visualization system, (3) the renovation of Osaka University Hall in line with the principle of Nearly Zero-Energy Buildings (nZEB), (4) three Energy Service Company (ESCO) projects, and (5) surveys on laboratory equipment and fixtures in 2012. These efforts were rated highly in Section 1: Buildings and Facilities Considering Campus Sustainability.
