Six OU Students Win Awards at the 4th Science Intercollegiate

The 4th Science Intercollegiate was held at the Kobe Convention Center on Saturday, February 28 and Sunday, March 1 under the sponsorship of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology.

48 students were shortlisted for the oral presentation and 124 for the poster presentation . OU students who climbed onto the shortlist were 9 for the former and 8 students for the latter . Six Osaka University students were commended for their achievements.

The Science Intercollegiate aims to nurture creative science professionals, to enhance the ability and motivation of science students engaged in independent studies by providing them with an opportunity to settle upon, pursue, and then make a presentation on a challenging topic.

  • IWAKIRI Shuichi , 3rd year, Department of Physics, School of Science (The Noise Knows -- Verifying the Fluctuation Theorem by Making Use of Nuclear Spin Polarization Fluctuations)

Science Intercollegiate Encouragement Award

  • MINATO Fumihiro , 4th year, School of Engineering (Hybrid Method Evaluation regarding Strong Motion and Tsunami Evacuation -- The Case of Kushimoto-cho, Wakayama in Nankai Megathrust Earthquakes)
  • ASAYAMA Hirotaka , 4th year, School of Engineering Science (Embedding Markers to 3D Printer Output for Dynamic Projection Mapping)
