An Osaka University Student wins 4th Ikushi Prizes from the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science

The Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS) announced on Friday, January 31 that YAMASAKI Seiji of Osaka University's Graduate School of Pharmaceutical Sciences has won Second JSPS Ikushi Prize .

The Ikushi Prize was established on the 20th anniversary of Emperor Akihito's accession to the imperial throne through an imperial donation to support and encourage young researchers who work steadily despite severe economic conditions.

Eighteen students in the second semester of doctor's courses in humanities, social sciences, and natural sciences also received awards. Mr. Yamasaki was awarded the prize for his work in Biology.


An awards ceremony will be held on Monday, February 24 at The Japan Academy in Tokyo.
