Opening ceremony of the Center for Information and Neural Networks held

On Wednesday, March 6, the opening ceremony for the Center for Information and Neural Networks was held on the Suita campus, Osaka University. The Center for Information and Neural Networks, in cooperation with the National Institute of Information and Communications Technology, will promote world-class advanced interdisciplinary research in the brain information communication field, a new research field whose development is expected.

The opening ceremony started with greetings from MIYAHARA Hideo, Director, National Institute of Information and Communications Technology, and HIRANO Toshio, President, Osaka University. Next, OGASAWARA Michiaki, Deputy Secretary, Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications and MORIMOTO Koichi, Deputy Director-General, Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology delivered congratulatory addresses. Following their addresses, YANAGIDA Toshio, Director, Center for Information and Neural Networks, talked about the outline and future outlook for the center.

Lastly, as shown in the photograph, the ceremony concluded with a ribbon cutting.
