Regarding Screening and Eligibility for required subject examinations of the 2012 National Center for University Entrance Examinations

The following concerns prospective students who took the required subject examinations in the first stage Entrance Examinations of the National Center for University Entrance Examinations for 2012, and who are entering through General Screening, Screening for Technical HS Graduates, and Screening by Recommendation.

As noted in 2012 Application Guidelines and 2012 Application Materials , individuals who did not take a subject test(s) in the first stage Entrance Examinations of the National Center for University Entrance Examination designated by school of their choice are not eligible for taking the second stage entrance examination given by Osaka University.

Regarding tests of Geography and History, Civics, and Science (in the first stage Entrance Examinations of the National Center for University Entrance Examination), individuals who took subjects designated by school of their choice, but who did not take the tests in the order designated by the school of their choice will be eligible to take the second stage entrance examination given by Osaka University; however, the test will not be scored . For example, students who took X first, but whose school had specified that Y should be taken first are eligible to retake Y; however, if the university requiring Y as the first test was Osaka University, that score will not be considered in the admission process.

This important information is noted in 2012 Application Guidelines and 2012 Application Materials as well as on the front page of Application Materials for Screening by Recommendation . This action will be limited only to the 2012 screening.
