On the evening of Friday , December 2 , the 3rd annual Osaka University Alumni Reunion in Tokyo was held at the Gakushi Hall in Kanda.

This December 2011 reunion was very successful with over 160 in attendance including President Hirano, trustees, deans of schools, and alumni representing several generations.

The first portion of the reunion program began with greetings from President Hirano and Vice President and Trustee Ebisu who spoke about current activities at the university. Their talks were followed by the lecture, "Challenges facing the Daiichi Sankyo Company" by Representative Director and President, Daiichi Sankyo Company, NAKAYAMA Joji, a graduate of the Graduate School of Engineering Science. He talked about his company's activities and challenges facing the pharmaceutical industry.

After a short break, the second portion of the program, a time for socializing and mixing, began with a greeting from President of the Federation of Alumni Association and Former Osaka University President KUMAGAI Nobuaki and a toast given by Professor Emeritus of the Graduate School of Medicine TOYOSHIMA Kumao.
