Center for Japanese Language and Culture of Osaka University certified as joint usage center for education

The Center for Japanese Language and Culture of Osaka University was certified as a Joint Usage Center for Education --a joint usage center for education in the Japanese language and in Japanese culture -- in accordance with the Fundamental Law of Education, paragraph 2, article 143, by the Minitry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology. This certification is valid from April 1, 2011 through March 31, 2016.

The Center for Japanese Language and Culture was established in 1954 with inauguration of the Japanese Language Course for International Students at the Osaka University of Foreign Studies. Since that time, the center has been pivotal in accepting international students and as a center for instruction in Japanese language and culture for international students who have received scholarships from the Japanese Government.

With this certification, the center has been recognized for its achievements in education spanning half a century. The center will continue to serve as a center of Japanese language instruction and to be actively involved in Japanese language instruction at public and private universities as well as for students other than those who have received a scholarship from the Japanese Government.
