Graduation Ceremony and Graduate Schools Investiture Ceremony Celebrated


The 2009-2010 Graduation Ceremony and Graduate Schools Investiture Ceremony were held at Osaka Jo Hall on Tuesday, March 23, 2010. This year, undergraduate degrees were conferred upon 3,435 students, Master's degrees upon 2,092, Juris Doctor's degrees upon 88, and Doctor's degrees upon 571.

The ceremony began with administration officials from the various schools conferring the Bachelor's degree certificates. Following the conferring of these degrees, 23 outstanding graduates received Kusumoto Awards for excellent achievement from the Kusumoto Scholarship Association, established to commemorate the retirement of KUSUMOTO Chozaburo, the second president of Osaka University.

YAMAZAKI Masakazu, professor emeritus of Osaka University, delivered a commemorative address to the graduates in which he reminded them of their responsibility as individuals who have studied at Osaka University.
