Osaka University selected as one of "Global 30"

Out of 22 Japanese universities that applied for recognition in the "Global 30" group of "bases" of internationalization, 7 national universities and 6 private universities were selected in 2009. Osaka University was one of those universities selected.

Various qualities are needed in order to be selected as a "Global 30" institution. Qualities include: provision for a quality education, an environment that supports and facilitates international exchange students, provision for providing instruction in English, a system that facilitates the acceptance of international students, meaningful promotion of international cooperation, and working closely with international students in an environment supported by capable and active personnel, thereby being a worthy representative of the internationalization of Japan.

In line with being designated for the "Global 30," Osaka University will redouble its efforts to provide and realize a meaningful and attractive program for international exchange students.
